The volume of goods to the US from Vietnam ranks second in Asia

Statistics of the American Business Association show that the volume of goods imported and exported by sea of Vietnam to the US market ranks second in Asia, only after China.

Currently, the two largest groups of seaports in the country, group 1 and 4, are both developed and invested. With seaport group 1, the capacity and organization of port operation is said to have been significantly improved in the new port areas. Container handling capacity increased impressively (from 500-800 TEU to 1,000-1,200 TEU per meter of berth).

Group 4 seaport group is the most developed seaport group in the country, focusing on the seaport group in Ho Chi Minh City and Cai Mep – Thi Vai area (Vung Tau) with more than 100 wharves and 220 wharves, nearly 40,000 in length. m.

At this group of ports, many ports are invested with synchronous scale, modern equipment with high productivity, handling capacity up to regional and international standards, fast ship release time.

Specifically, Cat Lai port (HCMC) is the port with the largest volume of container throughput in the country, receiving ships from 20,000 to 30,000 tons or larger (reducing the load), mainly transporting to international destinations. Asia line.

Cai Mep – Thi Vai port area is the largest deep-water port in the country, able to receive the world’s largest ship in cargo handling, ships with a tonnage of 240,000 tons. By 2022, Cai Mep port area has established 22 routes to the Americas, 2 routes to Europe and 10 routes to intra-Asia, an increase of about 3 times compared to 2013.
