Poland is Vietnam’s largest trading partner in the Middle East

On the afternoon of March 16, at a meeting with Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau on the occasion of his official visit to Vietnam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his belief that the visit would contribute to promoting the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
The goodwill between Vietnam and Poland is growing more and more in many fields. The Vietnamese government always attaches great importance to and wishes to strengthen multifaceted cooperation with Poland, a traditional partner and friend in the Middle East.

Discussing bilateral relations, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested the two sides increase the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially high-level, as well as between ministries, branches and localities of the two countries to enhance political trust. and mutual understanding, creating a foundation to promote and expand bilateral cooperation in all fields.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister proposed that Poland soon ratify the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) to facilitate equal and mutually beneficial investment cooperation between the two countries; promote the European Commission (EC) to soon remove the IUU yellow card for Vietnamese seafood products, meet the interests of Polish and EU consumers, as well as ensure livelihoods for hundreds of thousands of workers in the Vietnamese fishing industry.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Polish Foreign Minister agreed that the two countries should strengthen cooperation in multilateral and regional forums. Regarding the East Sea issue, the two sides emphasized the importance of ensuring security, safety and freedom of navigation and overflight in the East Sea, as well as settling disputes by peaceful means on the basis of peace and harmony, especially the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
