Mr. Nguyen Bay, Director of Binh Dinh Investment Promotion Center said, within the framework of an investment promotion trip in the Federal Republic of Germany (Germany), The delegation of Binh Dinh province led by Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, worked with PNE Group in Cuxhaven (Germany).
Met with Mr. Markus Lesser, Chairman and CEO of the Group; Thorsten Fastenau, Executive Vice President and Director of Offshore Wind Power. At the meeting, Mr. Thorsten Fastenau was delighted to welcome the delegation of Binh Dinh province in Germany; At the same time, he also thanked the provincial leaders for their interest, in creating favorable conditions and supporting enterprises to promote investment in offshore wind farm projects in the province over the past time.
Mr. Thorsten Fastenau said that PNE Group will make every effort to coordinate with local authorities so that the offshore wind power project can soon be deployed in Binh Dinh.

Meanwhile, Mr. Markus Lesser said, the reason why the Group chose Binh Dinh as the project implementation site was because of its high appreciation of the wind potential, the strength of its geographical location, simple investment procedures, and the very people of Binh Dinh. In particular, the Group appreciates and appreciates the enthusiasm and enthusiasm of the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People’s Committee.
Therefore, Mr. Markus Lesser believes that the project will be successful and soon be approved and implemented by the Government of Vietnam.
“Maybe before coming to Germany, the delegation did not have much information about us, about the offshore wind power projects that we have implemented. However, through the field survey and working directly in the country. During this mission, we proved to the delegation that the Group has enough capacity, experience, and finance to deploy the offshore wind power model in Binh Dinh,” said Mr. Markus Lesser.
Creating conditions for investors to research and survey the project
At the meeting, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung said that in February, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a business trip to Binh Dinh province. During the business trip, the Prime Minister gave directions and orientations to remove difficulties and obstacles for the project.
Along with that, the Prime Minister has agreed to assign the Ministry of Industry and Trade to consider and handle the inclusion of the offshore wind power project of the PNE Group in the National Power Development Plan (Power Plan VIII).
It is known that the offshore wind power project in Binh Dinh is proposed by PNE Group with a total capacity of about 2,000MW and a total investment of about $4.6 billion.

In October 2020, Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee approved the policy for the PNE Group to survey, research, install wind measuring poles, and assess wind potential in some marine areas in Phu Cat and Phu Cat districts. Phu My. The survey and research period is 12 months (from the date of giving the policy).
In mid-April 2022, PNE Group handed over the proposal for Hon Trau offshore wind power project to the People’s Committee of Binh Dinh province. Accordingly, the project will build 154 – 166 wind turbines, with a total capacity of up to 2,000 MW.
It is expected that wind turbines will be located in several islands and sea areas in Phu Cat and Phu My districts with the name “Hon Trau 1,2,3” in 3 phases of project implementation. Each phase has a mining capacity of about 700 MW. Form of wind turbine construction by fixed pillar foundation and floating pillar foundation.
TThe completion of this project will not only help to increase the power generation in Binh Dinh Province, but also contribute to investment, upgrading of seaport infrastructure, investing in supply chains, developing industry, and creating employment opportunities for the local people.
Within the framework of the investment promotion trip in Germany, the delegation of Binh Dinh province led by Mr. Ho Quoc Dung came to work with Cuxhaven Port of Rhenus Group in Cuxhaven.
