The Ministry of Transport has just issued Decision No. 552/QD-BGTVT on the publication of the list of terminals in Vietnam’s seaports.
According to Decision No. 552/QD-BGTVT, 10 new terminals are added to the list of terminals in Vietnam’s seaports, including: Nosco terminal in Quang Ninh seaport; Long Son general cargo terminal in Nghi Son seaport; Hai Ha -Quang Tri petroleum terminal (Quang Tri province); Pacific Petro international oil terminal (Ta Giang province); Tan Giao Long terminal (Ben Tre province); Duyen Hai 2 thermal power plant terminal (Tra Vinh province); Cai Mep Gemadept-Terminal Link terminal and Cai Mep general cargo terminal (Ba Ria – Vung Tau province); VIMC Dinh Vu terminal and FGG specialized terminal (Ho Chi Minh City). With 10 terminals added, the number of seaports nationwide now reaches the number 296. In particular, the locality has a seaport with a number of large ports, Hai Phong (52 berths), Vung Tau (48 berths)…
The Ministry of Transport shall request the Vietnam Maritime Administration to guide the management and operation of terminals in Vietnamese seaports in accordance with law, annually organize the update and submit to the Ministry of Transport for publication the list of terminals in Vietnamese seaports in accordance with regulations.
According to the Vietnam Maritime Administration, with the terminal system stretching from North to South, the Vietnamese seaport has been playing a good role in the context of the country’s deep integration.
Besides some areas with high throughput of goods such as Quang Ninh area increased by 48%, from 14.6 million tons to 21.7 million tons; Quang Tri area increased by 38%, from 175,000 tons to 241,000 tons; Nghe An area increased by 14%, from 1.67 million tons to 1.9 million tons. Many seaport areas have reduced throughput of goods such as Binh Thuan area by 38%, Can Tho area by 24%, Dong Thap area by 28%.
Data released by Vietnam Maritime Administration shows that, in the first 3 months of 2022, the volume of cargo through seaports maintained its momentum, reaching nearly 180 million tons, an increase of 4% compared to the same period in 2021.
